Since the Big 12 just invited a school that we beat in their own backyard is that an insult to SMU? That is SMU not being invited first.

Is this a serious question?

I mean that SMU did not get invited first. Just saw some pose that question on another board. Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts, that' s all.

I now understand your post, it doesn't matter who is invited first since we are in consideration.

I would only feel insulted if we had similar records over the past two years. If we were also consistently ranked in the top 25 then yeah it would be an insult, but TCU is currently a much more proven commodity, so I understand why one win against them doesn't hold much weight with regards to conference alignment.
On a side note, all this news is really messing with my productivity at work.

It is not an insult to SMU but rather (I hope) an alarm clock.
You have to have baseball and mens track and a committment to all D1 sports.
This started with Dr Pye and continued with Copeland. We can not correct 25 years of athletic incompetence in just 4 years. We are taking our lumps and need to press on. We need to add baseball and mens track ASAP. We need to take any AQ invite we can get. I don't care if it is Big East, SEC or Big XII (-2, -1, +2). Get to the table, fix your problems and then be in a position to attract better conference alignments. We have a lot to offer, but we also have a lot of baggage.
After todays events, if we don't get a Big XII invite, we have to hope for a Big East invite. Take the BCS money for however many years before the BE looses its AQ status and fund the other sports. At least basketball will be interesting and we can be ready for the next round in 2014.

Has nothing to do with basketball and even less to do with track. Football is the ONLY reason TCU was invited to that party.

Good point.

Maybe it'll work the boosters and athletic supporters into a fervor...their sister school and rival just pissed right in their milk. Do something about it.

ffs Baseball and mens track don't mean a damn thing. It's like a [deleted] man getting a girl with a nice butt, it's just a bonus doesn't have anything to do with why he chose her.
