A new take on why Patterson was so mad

The SMU-TCU game was a matchup of the only 2 coaches to take a non-AQ team to a BCS game and lose. Therefore, Patterson's loss to June confirms that Patterson is officially the worst of the top non-AQ coaches. Maybe that was what put his panties in a bunch.

I really think you are on to something there... but it could be that June was organizing marchers to storm the Federal Bank in Dallas tomorrow and demand the end of the Federal Reserves System.

After today's announcement, I figured he knew a Big 12 offer was about to be made and was in crisis mode it might get taken away after a loss to us.

This actually crossed my mind today.

I think it was all a charade which 1) would generate more interest to make this a real rivalry game instead of just two teams who are in close proximity playing or 2) he had to know of the Big 12 move and he is going to want to dump SMU and pick up all easy teams for non-conference in order to qualify for bowls in the future and their 6 win requirement. TCU should beat Iowa State and Kansas most years but games against Baylor, K-State Mizzou and Tech are tossups with UT, OU and OSU being losses in most years. Doesn't mean they can't win em all every other decade but not likely. so if you win the two you should win and split the other 4 you only have 4 wins in conference. You better get 2 or 3 in nonconference to be sure...kinda like KSU used to do.

This is my thought exactly. Will they become another doormat for the Big UT, just like Baylor? I should hope they do more with the BCS money than Baylor. If not, then they become insignificant in college football. Yes, not getting the money hurts, but having winning seasons and going to post season bowls means a lot to college football fans.
