Short sighted if they do the iron skillet has over 90 years of history, alumni on both sides love it, and we help there SOS compared to some sun belt team.

so was Baylor-all those Contracts have buyouts. Schedule needs to be softened because of Big 12 schedule. Pay attention to what Patterson said about the SMU/TCU series 2 weeks ago

The regular Big 12 schedule will be brutal enough. Plus they get an automatic BCS bid if they win the conference. I could see them possibly dropping us especially if the only win3 or 4 conference games in the first year.

They will have to start paying us a lot more for that game.

Fatterson always told everyone that no non-AQ school should play a BCS school for less than $1mil.

Show us the money toads!!!!

The moment Patterson made these comments I became very concerned the series might be coming to an end:

TCU has played SMU all but three seasons since 1915, and coach Gary Patterson said he doesn't see that changing.

"I just think it depends on the situation," he said of rivalries in general. "For us, being across town, because of location, it's always like a home game. Instead of having to travel, it's a good thing. That's not to say it's always a good thing [for others].

honestly, rivalries can't exist when one team is BCS and the other is not. its like temple/PSU...yes they are close to eachother in distance, but miles apart in budget, facilities, recruits, etc.

Kiss our rivalry with tcu goodbye. (unless we can somehow get AQ)

I really hope not. Love the TCU- SMU rivalry. I don't see it going anywhere, but I don't have any insider knowledge...

neither does your hot headed coach. coaches sometimes go to the AD and make scheduling requests, but at the end of the day, it's about timing/scheduling/MONEY.

i don't hear CDC saying anyhing about ending the rivalry.

Why would the CDC be involved? Was their an outbreak of bird flu at the game?
