Ivan Maisel of ESPN reports today that "[t]he idea of inviting SMU to join TCU as a Lone Star anchor disappeared Thursday when TCU said it wasn't coming."

Not good.

Not to worry, we always have the Big X+II to fall back on.

so long UCF & ECU. They'd be solid additions to the Big East.

Who's ready to go to the MWC tourney in Vegas?

Position ourselves for the next shakeup in 4-6 years. There are the haves, have some haves and the have nots

June's comment on Norm the other day about the odds being very slim for us to get into a BCS conference weren't so off base.

Yeah, that comment was concerning considering at the time of the interview we were being talked about in a few different scenarios.

yep, and these guys know stuff before the info trickles down the pipe to the underlings in the university who are the leaks to the media. so it takes a few days. it's not like the BigTXII woke up yesterday and said, "Hey, i have an idea! Let's invite TCU this morning!" then made the call right then.

If the final, and I mean final expansion, conference movement or whatever you want to call it has us looking on the outside. It's time to discuss serious options as to what to do with football.

If this is just a phase and more realignment is to come we need to figure out how to win, win big, and attract attention the program. Just like TCU did.

A move to the MWC with the top of the remaining CUSA teams could be just as strong as the BE reconfigured. BE football has been overrated for a very long time. More so than Big 10 football.
