A good point for keeping Big east or MWC AQ

Numbers.

To keep the status quo, the "big boys" need 50% +1 FBS votes on their side at all times.

Right now, there are 120 FBS teams.

Add up what we have for 2012 right now, more or less:

B10+B12+P12+SEC+ACC+ND = 12+10+12+13+14+1 = 62

Cutting it pretty close already.

Now, we know of 3 teams coming into FBS: TX ST, UT-SA and UMASS

62 of 123 just barely makes the cut.

A couple more come in and suddenly, they are outvoted.

I think the other Big leagues are really hoping the Big 12 goes back to 12, to give them the cushion they need before they drop the Big East auto-bid.

Interesting. I think they would be more likely to keep the Big East bid than give the MWC one.

Yeah, except then they just vote themselves a new league

Killer for the smaller conferences?

2 AQ conferences voted no on BCS to begin with over a decade ago. Funny how that works, seeing non-AQ conferences/schools setup a system that excludes them
