SMU and Boise State to Pac-12

Just another thought in the conference shuffle.
Think about it...Pac-12 would love to tap into Texas. Dallas market is huge. No strings attached with SMU by the obligation to adding Texas, Tech, OSU and OU. SMU has no loyalty to these teams. SMU is solo. Boise State is the trendy team in football. Boise is close to Washington and Oregon. SMU is not too far to Colorado and Arizona. Both want to be in an AQ conference. SMU in the Pac-12 south conference and Boise State in the Pac-12 north conference. This would be a win/win situation for everyone. Can't think of a better scenario. SMU and Boise State; a great addition to the new Pac-14.

Boise will never go to the PAC 12.
Do you really care where I sent this from?

Rice has a better shot at getting into the Pac 12 than Boise State. SMU and Rice together would be more reasonable given that we would be in-state travel partners, tap into Houston and Dallas markets, and solid academically.

I know this is a nonsense thread but, SMU and Rice combined have less fans than Boise. The problem with Boise is that they are stuck is a tiny market. They have grown probably as much as they ever will. Only 1.5 million people live in the entire state of Idaho, they have to appeal to people out of state as an underdog for growth, which they do. Right now we see them with monumental success, but give them a few bad years, and they would turn into a one hit wonder. How many people would watch a 5-7 Boise team? Will be interesting to see how TCU survives moving to the Big12 and seeing some mediocre season affect their popularity.

SMU is not close to Arizona. Colorado is like a 12-14 hour drive.

guess you dont know much about the pac 12...cal and others would sooner leave the conf than play w/ a religiously affiliated school in their
they have a veto and they would use it on us

Some of these comments make me laugh. I see that west of Texas is foreign territory to some. Let me respnd to a few comments made.
1. Arizona and Colorado are a short flight from Dallas. Way closer to ANY teams in the Big East. Also, how long of a drive to UCF?
2. USC is as religious as SMU. No difference between the two.
3. Boise State attendance/market--have you seen the average attendance for a Washington State game? No comparison. What tv market is in Spokane, WA?

This will never happen. Boise is a joke academically- think UNT. And the Pac-12 gets their panties in a wad over academics. Plus, Boise adds no market. WSU got in Pac-12 like 50 years ago or something, man, come on.

okay you're not understanding...while in practice the universities might be equally secular there are a couple fundamental differences between SMU and USC that break any chance we have w/ Cal letting us into the Pac 12
We have "Methodist" actually in our name and the church actually has a seat on our board whether they use it to do anything or not.
