Shouldn't UT want us in Big 12 now?

By inviting TCU alone to the Big 12, aren't UT, OU and Tech concerned that a SINGLE Metroplex Big 12 team might reign superior over the long haul? Wouldn't it be better to water down the ability of a single Metroplex team to get too powerful by inviting SMU as well? If TCU continues, even for a span of a few years, to be a solid team, they and aTM may pull all of the top recruits in the DFW area, forcing UT and OU to fight over 2nd and 3rd rate players.

Hmmmm.....UT, you better not let TCU get too powerful. If you ask me, SMU might be a good "check" against the rise of the toads...

You see, you are attempting to apply logic and strategic thinking into this discussion. That is a fatal flaw in all of the discussion around the Big 12. They are neither logical, nor strategic, nor capable of thinking beyond the next 10 minutes, let alone the next 5-10 years. And as such, they will continue to not be a viable option for us. Those who rely on a big stable of 5-star DFW talent have never played in a conference with a single DFW-based BCS team, especially one that happens to be national media darlings. Better watch out, Bevo!! You may find yourselves picking up aTm and TCU's leftovers. Better neutralize TCU by grabbing SMU, and quick!
