UCF's defense is better than TCU's so far. This could be a hard fought battle that could go either way.

We all knew this four game stretch was going to be a real test and character tester. We really do need to perform well at home to beat this team.
And I hope we can give our D front 7 a little more rest this week. They were just flat worn out in the 4th against TCU.
At one time, if we came through this four game stretch 2-2 most would be thrilled. I think now 3-1 is very possible and 4-0 isn’t outside the realm of possibilities. UCF is a winnable game but will require us to play at our best.
And do not lose the turnover battle.

If we are truly making the next step towards being a ranked team we must win these type of games. This is a home game with an extra week to prepare. There are no excuses come out and be ready to play for four quarters.

TCU's players are faster and more talented than UCF. They aren't a better defense than TCU....we should win this one. The off week couldn't have come a better time...our kids legs will be fresh and lively.

UCF's secondary is better.

Couldn't agree more.
Whoever set up this schedule did a good job. We beat our biggest rival in OT and the coaches talk smack for a week afterwards? That's a recipe for DISTRACTION, and one going into a game against a solid, athletic football team.
We will be ready.

Not really..both DB's for TCU are 4.3 speedsters ( But young and getting better every game) and could close down on our WR's in a flash. The passes had to be right on....Coach Mason raved about their speed and closing ability. Josh Robinson the celebrated DB for UCF is world class and is a shut down corner, but SMU will work the other side I would guess. Still a tough call but again, the week off will work wonders.

Not sure if UCF is a better team. I think our defense contiues to improve. Front seven did a great job against tcu only giving up one long play. I think that if JJMD can get his touch just right on the down field plays, soon it wont matter who we are playing. We left a lot of points on the field with balls that were just out of reach.

I agree with ponyscott that UCF's defensive ranking is suspect. Their only wins are against sub-0.500 teams. And, they lost to FIU, which itself has a 'soft' win record.
W - Charleston Southern 0-5
W - Boston College 1-5
L - FIU 4-2
(FIU W’s UNT, Louisville, UCF, Akron; beat UCF 17-10)
L - BYU 4-2
W - Marshall 2-4
We haven't exactly faced world-beaters every week, but we have been tested. I see UCF as better on paper than real-life. We'll see, but I like our chances for a strong performance.

I like the idea of throwing undereneath and letting recievers run. That and Line will cause the secondary to move in towards the LOS. Then hit deep.

UCF's defense will not be better than the Aggies. We were able to move the ball on them, just had some costly early mistakes that made that way too much of an uphill climb.
TCU's defense is good, but the secondary isn't what it has been. The front seven though can play.
I'm not a UCF expert, just looking at stats and the teams they have played. I would say their secondary is better than TCU's but their front seven isn't as strong. And they are definitely not as good as A&M. We should be able to move the ball and put up some points.
We need to limit mistakes on offense and play solid defense and I say we win (and cover).

You do know that I was making fun of what Patterson said about SDSU after playing us.

not to speak for him, but I'm sure he did. but, there isn't another pre-game thread around, and we are limiting duplicate threads this week (right?).
