And someone mentioned us to the SEC again. Wish that would stop doing that people around here begin to think we are next in line.

Funny, Memphis gets mentioned, Marshall, Ohio even UMass. Some over there are delusional.

I'd say mixed. Half don't mention us. But those that do are complimentary.
A few comments on lack of fan support.

I was watching Thad's recap of the 2009 season last night on Vimeo and, you know, I had forgotten how far we've come since that breakthrough season. We really were the dregs of major college football, a hopeless situation. Expectations are now entirely different -- entirely.

Current state is we are a good team trending towards very good in a mid level conference, a team with limited fan support and therefore appeal, but with strong academics and political ties. And a team with a nice football history.

We are not going to be the first on any BCS conference's list, BUT I feel we'd be a good addition to a Big East that shows sufficient reason to retain BCS status -- or, what I prefer -- a MWC that cherry picks the best of CUSA to form a sixteen team league with a BCS slot.

SMU/UH combo deal sounds great! Also, a Big East team would play in one Texas market nearly every year, depending upon division. That's a good selling point to TX recruits.

Unfortunately I agree. The best scenario for SMU is the UH/SMU combo pack. One without the other makes for long road trips everywhere and lack of an in state rival. Let's just hope this moves along a little quicker.

We are on the same track TCU was on 10 years ago, but at a much faster pace. How long did it take for TCU to start being seriously considered for BCS conference inclusion?

I'm so happy fans on message boards don't make decisions regarding conference moves.

BTW - We are being considered for all sports right?

Yes, currently the way things have been reported we would be in for all sports. Keep your fingers crossed.

And yes, thank God that message board fans do not make decisions regarding conference alignment. There would probably be some crazy conferences out there.
