Good to hear we might finally start rotating receivers since we have a little depth there. This will only make the whole bunch better.

Good interview. Would still like to hear the reasoning going back to Hawaii days that June only plays 4 receivers unless in a 5 receiver set or sometimes a bigger receiver as a tight end blocker. Other spread -type -throw- the- ball- a- lot teams seem to employ 6-10 receivers in their games.
Is it a personal preferance particular to this version of Jones' offense or just a matter of depth. Is it something going back to pro days that qbs and receivers adjust and see things together as the game goes on? Reinbold gave the reasons FOR using more receivers which most people who are fans seem to agree with but not the reasons against.

Does it have something to do with the QB?

the R&S is different than a lot of the spread offenses in that it relies on the recievers and quarterbacks ot make the same reads.

Im sure playing less players means more familiarity between the QB-WR and less chance for error in wrong routes and subsequent interceptions.

it sounds like the quality of depth we have at the receiver position is the factor.
I imagine that JJ and staff couldn't exactly tell their Hawaii back-ups that they weren't good enough to get on the field often. you play your best players. if the drop-off to the back-ups is substantial, not a great impetus to rotate receivers. given all the recruiting limitations that JJ had in Hawaii, it's not surprising that he couldn't accumulate the numbers of quality receivers that he would have liked, or that we now have.

At Hawaii, JJ preferred not to rotate his WRs. His reasoning was that WRs in the RnS work as a group. As far as fatigue, he claimed his WRs were in better shape than opposing DBs because they run so much in practice. I don't know if many fans in Hawaii bought that. Also, you don't have the opportunity to develop your underclassmen, and if someone gets injured you're in bad shape.
