i only post this as a starting off point because i don't agree with anything he predicted.

the acc may add iconn and rutgers.
this leaves cincy loserville sf and wvu.
the big 12 does not want to go to 12.
those four could join cusa.
another option is for the 12 all stars of cusa and mwc to join them to form a 16 team conference.

btw on tony barnhart last night there was talk of another texas school going to the big 12. uoh was mentioned.

Not even being facetious. If C-USA and MWC members made contractual commitments to each other, Big East has nobody to add. League dies.

With all the Big East nonsense, why wouldn't C-USA and MWC just do the grant of rights and force the Big East to die?

If Louisville and WV can go to Big 12, they go. Rutgers/UConn/USF/Cincy can go to C-USA or go indy.

why only uconn to acc?
i repeat nd is not going.
cusa would be happy to add the other four.
a better conference would be to have the best of cusa and mwc join them.

News out of Cincinnat is that the most likely scenario is a cusa/mwc merge. No mention of what would happen to uc and anything left of BE.

Hopefully it is not a total merger but if it is, some schools are left out. 22 schools is far too large.

I've read that somewhere too. If the Big 12 adds another team it's not going to be in the Metroplex. They got that in TCU. If it's a Texas school it's going to be Houston.

That Wolken tweet does make some sense but the problem is that if the Big East goes away, the big boys are not going to invite anyone else. As long as you're under the "Big East" banner, you have a spot at the table. It's also about TV money. Not sure MWC/CUSA merger is going to get nearly as much as the Big East schools do now per school.

The big boys would invite someone else, especially if that someone else included the big boys. If, say, WVU, Louisville, USF and Cincy joined after the BE disbanded, they probably wouldn't have too much of a problem.

Yep, it's all about exclusion. If there's a chance to get rid of some teams, the big boys will do it.

I believe the Big East basketball schools hold the power. The football schools resent that. If CUSA and MWC schools held firm, that would be the death of BE football and their AQ status. Unfortunately it won't happen. For schools like ECU, they would sell their soul to get in the BE, even though there is a 50/50 chance the BE will lose their AQ status.

Don't worry about it. Every nonAQ school President and athletic director is right there with you. That includes several AQ Presidents and AD's also.
