Hi Everyone,

So I'm the former student who grabbed the nevada helmet, ran onto the field and joined the huddle back in 2004. Spent the night at the HP jail (I think). Anyway, was on this board looking up SMU stats, and did a random search for that topic and noticed people were still talking about it. I consider it a defining moment. Anyway, I just thought I would show up and ask if anyone had any thoughts/questions. Go ponies.

I thought it was great. Was it the promise of gridiron glory or a very high blood alcohol content level that drove you to take the field that day?

Still the moment that generates the most laughs when its brought up amongst my friends. That happened my freshman year. Hilarious.

I'll never forget it. Epic. Worth the night in the clink.

Drunk dude somehow got on the Nevada sideline. Grabbed a helmet and lined up at strong safety. Awesomeness!

I was there watching in the Mustang Stables area (the enclosed tent thing we used to have in the endzone) to stay out of the rain. It was absolutely hilarious...can't believe the guy made it that far.

Ha! I remember this, so amazing. I still can't believe none of us noticed until you were out there in the huddle. Even the Nevada players, it was hilarious watching their reactions once they realized you weren't a player. And man, did those cops break your neck yanking that helmet off? You were a hero to the students that night.

Legendary event. More on this later.

Definitely one of the highlights of the Bennett error....I mean era.
