A Mustang goes prime time!

Kudos to the great Eric Dickerson for landing the Monday Night Football gig on ABC this fall. (He and Melissa Stark of ESPN will be the sideline reporters.) Some have complained that Dickerson doesn't have a reporting background, and therefore is ill--prepared for his new job, but Eric is a very intelligent man, very well-spoken, and certainly has the expertise to explain the behind-the-scenes action at games.

I, for one, think Dickerson will do a great job, and it's great to see another Mustang on the Monday Night Football stage (following the great DOn Meredith from years ago.)

Any other opinions?

I'm more excited that Melissa Stark will be seen on the sidelines.

But that's just me. I'm a different breed of cat.

And, although I think Chris Rock would have helped more with the coveted 18-25 demographic, ABC can count on my TV being tuned in to Dennis Miller.

"different breed of cat?" No kidding.

I agree on Melissa Stark, too. But as far as I know, she can't claim any SMU roots.

So let's see - the great Eric Dickerson is going national on ABC, and the great Craig James (I think) still has his gig on CBS. I have the greatest PonyFans.com handle of all.

Dickerson will be great. Better than my bandwagon-jumping dance I do each Saturday. And at least he's played the game in the last century -- unlike me, but ESPN keeps hiring me back....
