I love the first comment in the Comment section-the NCAA is always screwing with poor innocent alma mater; "My anger gets the best of me, but the fact is we are a scapegoat." 1 Hour Ago "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Mississippi State's Date with Destiny TomorrowWell At least Auburn got their National Championship.
An atheist is a guy who watches a Notre Dame-SMU football game and
doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower

NCAA accepts self-imposed minor penalties. Big deal.
Re: Mississippi State's Date with Destiny TomorrowThe last paragraph states:
"The takeaway? It pays to cooperate with the NCAA — so to speak." That's the name of the game-the SMU case defined that as the name of the game and for over 25 years you play the game or you get screwed like SMU "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Mississippi State's Date with Destiny TomorrowCooperation as in lie, deny and false statements.
![]() What about repayment of the $6,000?
Re: Mississippi State's Date with Destiny Tomorrow"Additionally, the booster and his friend provided a car to the recruit for approximately $2,000 below the actual value of the car,†the release states. “Prior to taking an official visit to a different university, the booster told the recruit that if he did not take the visit, the recruit would be paid $6,000.â€
Redmond, who did not play in 2012, will be suspended for the first five games of the 2013 season and is REQUIRED TO PAY BACK the $2,660 in benefits he received." Mississippi St. was sanctioned with loss of scholarships, visits and recruiting season too. The Coach was fired by Mississippi St and the NCAA gave him a Show Cause for a lifetime (ie 10 year) banishment from the game. Do you think this case merits greater penalties when the NCAA finds it was done by a booster and the school voluntarily cooperated with the NCAA including firing the Coach? The NCAA isn't going to excessively penalize schools for the actions of rouge boosters-they are looking for guys like Bill Clements, Ron Meyer, Steve Endicott, Bootsie Larsen (and the rest of the Coaching Staff) Bob Hitch, Don Shields and school officials who have personal knowledge or participated in the violations, covered it up and lied to0 NCAA officials because "there wasn't a Bible in the room at the time" "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Mississippi State's Date with Destiny TomorrowGood, now let's see the NCAA ride MS. State's [deleted] for the next 20 years like they did SMU's starting back in the early 70's. Let's see the same scrutiny and then see how it all plays out.
Re: Mississippi State's Date with Destiny TomorrowStallion - "rouge" boosters. Are those from Louisiana Tech?
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Re: Mississippi State's Date with Destiny TomorrowAccording to previous posts, the NCAA probably doesn't have the resources to follow up the
little smoke that this generated. Under probable pressure from the SEC, they pulled the trigger before they saw the BIG PICTURE at Miss. St. ![]() May the forth be with us.
Re: Mississippi State's Date with Destiny Tomorrowagree with you on the NCAA not having the resources. But, you forgot the other situation besides the no resources. . . NO COJONES

Re: Mississippi State's Date with Destiny Tomorrow
Um...SMU cooperated with the final investigation to the point of the investigators recommending that the death penalty not be levied. But the NCAA decided to make an example of us anyway.
