Interesting take from TCU AD Chris Del Conte on the future of the TCU-SMU rivalry:

"Del Conte said both he and head football coach Gary Patterson enjoy scheduling one marquee game against a BCS opponent, one FCS (formerly I-AA) opponent and a game against SMU to fill TCU’s out-of-conference football schedule each year."

It's the middle of summer. They have lives, too.

Seriously. How is that the one thing he took from the article? For accuracy's sake, maybe he should change his username to PonyDouche

My favorite line from the article:
The money has a financial benefit for both universities as well, Del Conte said.
That's a fine education they're offering over in Ft. Worth if they've figured out that money has financial value.

They've figured out big-time college athletics a lot better than we have though, that's for sure.

It will forever be a stain on Turner's legacy that he didn't get serious about football until the CoC handed him a check in 2008. At the very latest, a renewed dedication to being competitive at the highest level of college football should have begun when Ford Stadium opened in 2000.

When would you prefer they take vacation with their families? During the football season? How about in the middle of basketball season?

It's summer. They have families. I hope they're relaxing, wherever they are.

For some, that might be because they think they should win that game, but regardless of the reason, a rivalry that has been in existence this long between schools in such close proximity should be played forever.

agree as well; crosstown rivals should play each other every year, in every sport

It is great game for TCU because when the game is at SMU plenty of cheap tickets are available to the visitors since SMU doesn't have enough fans and they can think back to just a dozen years ago and reminisce "this used to be us".

That's some pretty weak sauce...
