Jersey numbers for the new guysThe on-line roster has the numbers listed for the freshmen (and transfers):
LB Carlos Carroll (40): Legit number QB Kolney Cassel (17): Solid QB number K Daniel Chaparro (77): He's listed as a redshirt freshman, so does that mean he was here last year? Either way ... 77 for a KICKER? Love it. Got to love those unusual college numbers. S Myles Crosby (27) WR Everett Dickerson (82) OL Travis Fister (62) WR/TE Jeremiah Gaines (84) DE Mason Gentry (93) WR Nate Halverson (20): Excellent choice. Gives impression of being a RB, DB, WR ... nice for a versatile athlete. DL Spencer Hollie (91) OL Christian Holloway (76): He's not new, but he's new to OL. LB Nick Horton (25): Like it. DB Cedrick Lancaster (3): Didn't Coach Phillips say he's going to play WR? And when he was recruited, I never saw a K on the end of his name. Why the change? Either way, 3 works at WR or CB. DE Justin Lawler (99) OL Daniel McCarty (67) DE Zelt Minor (92) CB Jesse Montgomery (89): Huh? Unorthodox numbers are cool, but I can't remember ever seeing a DB with a number in the 80s DE Elie Nabushosi (7): Looks like he has switched from 41 to 7. This is one case when it works. WR J'Marcus Rhodes (18): I thought he was a CB. Either way ... this one works, too. S Darrion Richardson (29) CB Horace Richardson (9): Shades of Marcus Malonson! Awesome. S Daniel Roundtree (12): Another nice switch. OT Jerry Saena (78) WR Deion Sanders (2): Wasn't that his dad's college number? DE Jarrett Spencer (11): Kind of cool. I like it. WR JaBryce Taylor (83): Got to keep his high school number. DB Trey Washington (14)
Re: Jersey numbers for the new guysWho knows, as fast as Jesse Montgomery is they might try him at WR first to see if it works.

Re: Jersey numbers for the new guys
Alabama's Kicker was 99 a few years ago, did they look minor league?
Re: Jersey numbers for the new guys
I know that OLs have to be 50-79; but are there any other regulations that the NCAA imposes? 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: Jersey numbers for the new guys
No, other than two players from the same team can't wear the same number on the field at the same time, unless you are Notre Dame of course. Shake It Off Moody
