Still no baseball. Still no mens track. Still no natatorium. Still no indoor workout facility.
$23 million doubled would have been something to brag about. Until somebody shakes things up, we'll remain pretty status quo. However, we ARE slowly moving forward.

Yeah, but the new indoor/outdoor tennis facilities broke ground as promised June 1st--didn't it?

Actually the tennis facility hasn't broke ground yet. It looks like they've begun the process of clearing out that land adjacent to the currently under construction data center at the intersection of 75 and Mockingbird.

Curious but what is the 'data center' for?

It takes a lot of computers to keep an organization as big as SMU running.

When do they break ground on it?

I'm not sure the exact date of the groundbreaking but Hart mentioned it would break ground at some point in July in his last "Straight From the Hart" column.

This is good news. If we're not moving forward then we're falling behind.

Not sure; the data center is going up pretty quickly. Between the sophomore dorms, the Ford suites, the data center, track facilities, and new indoor/outdoor tennis facility, that's a busy little corner of campus right now.

New track facilities?

Either way, nice to see the improvements in fund raising. Hopefully the tennis courts get started soon. That lot has looked the same for over 6 months now.
