If we lose to Montana State, we should announce the next day that JJ is stepping down at the end of the season

Why wait that long?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

the way to beat them is to run the ball and clock mgmt, use the lines. JJ is not going to do that
