Good list and pictures. Which Mustang would you put in the Top Ten for SMU?

Great list! It will be interesting to see if Hunt or some of the others can squeeze into this list.

Great list, but I would have put Dickerson in first, Gregg in second, Berry third.

Actually I like your list better.

Anybody but the Colts-loving NFL media would have Dickerson and Gregg as 1 and 2 in some order.

Still a great collection of players and really cool to see something like this on the NFL site.

It's a good list except for Dickerson being left out. I wouldn't forget Jerry Mays (KC Chiefs) or Louie Kelcher or Don Meredith.

Good list, but I would wouldn't put Berry in the top five--played on a great team with the decade's best quarterback.

I would move Merrideth up to no. 2 (and Dickerson No. 1). I had to watch that awful Cowboy line just let other teams beat him up every Sunday. Some days I thought he was getting killed and wouldn't make it in for another series. Even Jay Cutler of Chicago has a better time of it than Dandy Don did. You can't imagine just how bad the Cowboys were, for his first 5-6 years. It took a toll on him, but the Cowboys turned the corner with their quarterback from SMU, becoming the best offensive team in the NFL. I wonder just how good he really would have been had he had an offensive line.

Dickerson is number one, period. Berry was great in the NFL and, amazingly, not so much in college. I'd put Doak at two and Gregg at three.

I would have picked Gregg as number 1. He was considered the best football player Lombardi ever coached, he played in the line and set a then record most consecutive games played. He was on several championship teams (and with different teams) and played in 8 All Pro bowls. Dickerson was great but Gregg is arguably the best offensive linemen to ever play pro ball.

Dickerson was arguably the best RB that ever played the game. Still has the record for most yards in a season. Glad both went to SMU. :D

No question Gregg was the best ever at his position, but Dickerson was arguably the best ever at his position and at the end of the day you make a bigger impact as a RB than you do as an OT.

I would have to go with Gregg.
