If anyone watched hard knocks, you saw how lost Margus still actually is. Yes he has size and strength, but he has no idea how to use it. He was on his back a lot in the hour show... After watching his college career, there is no logical explanation or argument you can make for Margus being a HoF caliber player.

Knowing how strong Margus is, watching HardKnocks really made me appreciate how incredible the caliber of NFL players vs. NCAA. Margus was being pushed around lole a ragdoll at times and much smaller guys were hitting as hard or harder than he was.

The potential is palpable but it's clear he doesn't have proper angles, hand-placement and sometimes intensity down yet.

I'm surprised. I thought he'd only need DT nuance-work: arm techniques or stuff like that. Which begs the questions: how does this staff take a tremendous athlete, who by all appearances is a smart, intelligent on how to use his body, and a quick-learner, and throughout four years of film, practice, one-on-one, not give him the basics!?! June's forgotten more about football than I'll ever know but he still seems completely raw fundamentally, which I think reflects poorly on this staff.

Margus is indeed an amazing physical specimen. But those guys aren't uncommon in the NFL. Last year, I was in Houston/Kemah/Clearlake doing demos of our products at a charity offshore powerboat event. Former Texans Pro Bowl DE Mario Williams came by for a ride. He's every bit as imposing as Margus (very similar measurables, but with a heavier build IMHO), plus I'm pretty sure he already knows how to play the game.

Remember, that basically until his Sr. year he was training to be a thrower first and a football player 2nd.

Potential is there but thats a pretty big stretch considering other than the bowl games he'd disappear for games on end.

lol. I love margus as much as anyone else on here, but he wasn't in the top 2% of college football players last year and the majority of games, not in the top 2% of players in CUSA. But he's supposed to be in the top 2% of people who have ever played the game?? I know you are a sunshiner, but man, sometimes you gotta at least have an ounce of realism in your brain.

and just to be clear, your expectations for June are to beat 5 teams out of the likes of Rice, ECU, UTEP, Tulane, Memphis, etc, right?

Margus is an athletic freak. He's athletically in the top 2% of any man ever to play the game. Very, very few players have had that combination of size, speed, and strength. Combine that with the discipline it takes to be a top track athlete, a probable Olympic gold winner had he stayed a thrower, and you get a rare individual. He's raw and brand spanking new to the game. I think he'll at the very least have a very long NFL career.
