Tech football players are tweeting to the fans to "blackout" the smu game so they and the people on ESPN watching can see that the stadium is overrun by tech fans showing their support.
They can pull it off, but the joke is on them, I heard June is planning on the team wearing Black jerseys, jokes on tech I guess.

June would love to coach tech, with all the red and black and no blue, oh wait that's us.

If Tech fans are planning on a blackout and SMU fans are planning on a whiteout then it is all about the turnout. The person that decided on the whiteout for SMU will either look very good or very bad imo.

would re really wear black jersey's against Tech - a team with black colors ? Wait, we did it for Army - so I gues sit makes sense!

Only problem(s) is that Tech will have more fans in stadium, and they will wear what they are told......

I would have kind of liked to see a blueout so it could have kind of slightly blended close to black. Harder to distinguish on Television.

I doubt we wear black. But, in the Army game, Army's primary color that day in the uni was gold & white, black was more of accent color. Tech would be a little different ... but it might be fun to see Tech's reaction if we did come out in all black .. with blue and red accents. Anyway, I'm sure we will be in our home red.

I think black is a primary color for Army. They are the Black Knights. But I agree that it might mess with Tech if we did that.

I wish we could just wear our own 2 colors, red AND blue!!!

Nobody "decided" on the whiteout - it's traditional!

Does anyone REALLY think that Tech will outnumber SMU fans in this game? Even if we played a no-name opponent, the SMU crowd usually shows up in decent numbers for the first home game of the season. I get sick of seeing the comments about how Tech will outnumber us, just like people said about any time we played TCU, aTm, etc. And sure enough, I've never seen a single pic of a big game with more opposing fans in Ford than SMU fans. Can we quit saying this already?

Uh have you ever noticed a lot of the "official" pics of ford are conveniently during tech games when they seats are filled with people wearing red?

I will say that opposing teams often seem like a huge section because they are much better at wearing their teams colors. SMU fans are terrible at wearing team colors. Not "cool" enough for those fashionable folks.

I will say it does look like the current students are 10x better at wearing school colors than they ever were when I was there.

I have no problem with an occasional Black jersey game. I would like to see a return to the blue jerseys. If June has the team come out in black, great. We really need a new team jersey re-design...
