Hated to see Shead go down on an illegal tackle. Hope he is ok,

Sorry to say Shead did not impress me. Seemed slow. Fumbled twice. Dropped a pass. I was more impress with Line the sequel.

the front 7 for Tech was very underrated on this board.

They weren't great, but they were solid, and it was obvious they were a bunch of veterans against our new line. I thought the left side of our line (Gottschalk, Rice, Lasecki) looked good, for the most part. The right side has work to do.

Did Ashcraft even play?

Very interested starting Oline lineup.

Anyway, back to the injury report. Any word on Joyner? I read that Shead was riding a stationary bike on the sideline so maybe it wasn't as bad as it seemed? Joyner would be a huge loss.

Yeah, we might have our answer to why there wasn't more interest in this guy despite his JC numbers. We might have had less than 20 called runs in this game, which is consistent with that 75-25 pass run ratio June was talking about in the offseason. The running game might not be a factor at all this season with limited touches and lousy blocking.

Shead did a great job blocking when he was in. Line almost got GG killed a couple of times....

Ashcraft played the first part of the first quarter, was removed. I thought he was injured, but then he came back at the very end of the game.

What game were you watching. Shead missed several block or didn't pick anyone up. Line missed zero blocks. Better go back and watch the game again.

I'm not willing to write Shead off based on one half of one game (which was his first FBS game in some time). He seemed like he was just starting to get rolling in the second half, and then he got hurt. I hope he's back quickly. If so, I think he's going to be a good back for us this year.

The new policy concerning injury information/injury reports really sucks. June always states he is not allowed to discuss injuries. Does this relate to HIPAA laws? Is it possible to skirt the law by players agreeing in advance to allow the coaches to discuss their injuries? What was so terrible about coaches being able to say after a game it looks like "John Doe Player" hurt his elbow ligaments and may be out for 2 weeks.

That isn't true. Shead picked up his blitz a couple of times in the first quarter.

I saw twice where Line went to help the RT and left a guy to blitz right up the middle. Had a great pickup on it once, but twice he left to block the wrong person.

Coaches do not like to make injuries public so they don't let the opposing coach know.
