injuries hurt us right before half as both Henderson and Roundtree were subbing and Tech hit on two downfield passes including TDs.

Right Guards were having a bunch of problems in first half dealing with Kerry Hyder-

Shead took wrong man at least once

interesting formation on goal line when Jereimiah Gaines caught TD that was called back. 6 OLM including TE(Gaines) to right with two slots right next to each other a step from the TE and a step off line-essentially 8 lineman. It worked. You got to give June some credit-they were running different looks half the game. I'm sure we will see more development of these formations in future. We asked for change-got more than I expected-certainly more than the "20% change" June always refers to.

Gilbert took what Tech gave him and didn't make mistakes. Actually one of his very best performances at SMU. Better than I first thought during game. Definitely consistently moved the chains-didn't last year. The missing ingredient is finding receivers downfield and he still needs quicker decision-making during periods of the game. Noticed Tech's QB checking through 3rd options on many passes-deceisively

That's the same unbalanced goal-line formation, that June has run a number of times since he has been here.

After re-watching this, I saw some really exciting things this offense was doing and trying to do (and excited about some of the young guys like Taylor and Gaines). I don't think we'll face a D line as tough as this in AAC play (Hyder is an All American). I think we might make a go of it this season. I hope Shead and Rambo bounce back quickly. Rambo is a huge loss. And I honestly thought Shead was starting to get into a little bit of a rhythm, he just needs more time in our offense IMHO.
