Smu football will be something to be proud of again. We have made progress. We have shown ourselves to be worthy of 4 straight bowls. We are slowly getting the hang of big boy football again.

For those of you with only negative things to say: please get over it. I share your disappointment. I share your frustrations. I share the questioning of June Jones' and his methods.

It may be a few years, it may be next year, it may be awhile. But here are things I do know.

1. We are in a better conference situation
2. We are NOT the only team in fbs that has disappointed its fans
3. We all can do a better job supporting our team no matter what.
4. We are in a great market, and have potential for much improvement!
5. Our school's academic rankings continue to sky rocket
6. We will not be excluded in a d4 situation. We would get in somehow, just believe that.
7. Our future is bright
8. Just see what's going at Moody y'all.


I will be at our game v. Montana state... Hoping June doesn't lay an egg. I'm in 209. Hope to see you there!

Here's what you don't get frat. The fuse has already been lit and it won't be long before boom. We have no time to continue this experiment of the past 25 years. Baylor and TCU and Vandy and Stanford are ready, they got their house in order. We did not/we have not. ESPN and tv dollars are at work behind the scene, today, shaping what the college football landscape will look like in the next 2-3 years (at most). And once that landscape is finalized, there will NOT be any chance for SMU or anyone left without a chair to buy/play/negotiate their way in (IMHO).

Thanks, SMUFrat for your post and after yesterday's game, for a bit of courage to post constructive comments. The negative posts get a bit overwhelming. I will try to be more optimistic, although TT is a team we should have and must beat in the future.
