Usually it just takes 4 or 5 games for Coaches Jones teams to get in sync, get used to full contact to the ground hitting, and tweaking. We should start seeing better play and more wins by either the Rutgers or Temple game. We just need to wait and start seeing the progress then. I will try not to say I told you so when it happens but watch. We will go bowling.

But '86 isn't Rutgers pretty good? We will most likley be 1-3 going into the Rutgers game and you'd think Rutgers will be favored. 1-4 will not be pretty and could make it difficult to salvage the season. If we are 1-4 this message board may have a complete MELTDOWN!

After Rutgers we play Memphis and Temple. That should get us on a 2 game roll and the rest should be history except Cincinnati.

I hope you are correct that we will get in sync this season, but getting that way four games into the season is ridiculous. a coach should have his team ready to play every week. We looked pretty well together in the opener. I hope this team can keep their morale up when the sledding gets tough and can fight like hell to come back when they are down. We have a quick strike offense which has the potential to mount a lightning come back in the late stages. But if the ponies don't have the heart for it, what good is it?

I don't see this team losing to Montana St. I certainly don't mean to imply that we take them lightly, but I saw enough positive in the Tech game to build on that I think will carry over into a whooping of an FCS team. The season is by no means lost after one game, but I hope to see the team come out with a chip on its shoulder and a sense of urgency for every game here on out. It's the only way we have a chance in conference.

We're already that point whether we lose to the FCS team or not.
