It's not a channel, but a web platform (far better than the old All-Access, too). I know that UVerse Internet and Time Warner Internet carry ESPN3. There is a list of all providers at espn.go.com/espn3/affList

This football season is under the old contract. The new contract starts in basketball season.

For AppleTV owners there is an app called WatchESPN. This provides the ability to get on the big screen. Unfortunately there isn't a login for DirecTV subscribers but there are many other provider logins. Since I am a DirecTv subscriber I tried logged in with my Verizon Internet login. And it works. So if your TV provider is not on the list try your Internet provider login.
Good luck logging in and Go Mustangs!

WatchESPN is also an app on the XBox, for those who have that system. And the list I provided is all internet providers - I am pretty sure it goes by internet provider and not TV provider.

Does this mean watching the game at a bar is out of the question?

Watching at bar? No. This is not out of question. Most bars will not have Roku, AppleTv or Xbox to get the WatchESPN app but some may. Also not hard for a bar to just hook up iPad to TV
Overseas. Yeah, ESPN probably has restrictions but just proxy in to a US domain and then you will be able to get ESPN3. Let me ask around my co-workers. People are doing this all the time at my work to get soccer matches.

Is it possible to buy an ESPN3 subscription if your cable provider doesn't carry it?
