After staying competitive for 2 quarters, the Ravens really fell apart in the second half last night. Maybe they should fire Harbaugh.

Next time pick a coach that didn't just win the Super Bowl.

Bottom line if you want June out then stroke the check for his buyout. Otherwise, your opinion doesn't matter. None of our opinions matter. The only ones that do are the twenty or so people on the CoC.

Please tell us how much his buyout is. Hint: There is no buyout clause this year. To terminate him, we would simply pay him the money remaining on his contract. So the only amount additional to what we have already committed to pay is whatever we agree to pay a new coach. I am blue in the face from explaining this so many times.

That means there is a $2 million buyout. If we were not on the hook for any remaining salary then there would be no buyout.

FINALLY, we get to the bottom line. I'm pretty sure everyone knows where the bread is buttered.

There is NO buyout clause as it expired last year We would have to pay the remaining amount unless we fire June for cause. It would be a regularly scheduled payment instead of a buyout prepayment. So you and I are saying the same thing but in different ways.

Or maybe all those calling for June Jones' head (mid-season!!) should instead focus their attention on a coach who didn't just lead this perennial cellar dweller to respectability. Jones has done something the 4 coaches before him could not do: win consistently. Don't stone Football Moses just because he can't take us to the promised land. Sometimes these things take time. Hopefully not 40 years.

31-35 overall record 0 conference titles 0 weeks ranked 6-25 versus winning teams 1-10 versus Tech, Baylor, TCU and A&M 2-8 versus BCS teams 8-22 in road games Again, you need to pick a better coach. None of those "respectable" accomplishments equals a Super Bowl win in any way. BTW we don't have forever for June to figure out that he needs to recruit better to make SMU relevant in football. If he hasn't figured it out now then he never will.

1) June has had recruiting and curriculum advantages that has predecessors didn't have. 2) June has had a larger assistant coach budget than his predecessors. 3) Losing to Tulane disproves the "win consistently" claim 4) Your post is therefore invalid

Alright, you can play around with semantics but my point is if you want JJ gone after this season it's not cheap. You pay his 2014 salary (~$2million) on top of whatever you're paying the new coach.
Call it whatever you want, but it's essentially a buyout.

I'm just trying to avoid confusion on the differences between last year and this year. Had we fired him last year, we would have owed $4m plus a buyout amount. This year, we pay $2m total.
