Good Game Montana State

Postby SMU21TCU10 » Sat Sep 07, 2013 11:12 pm

Y'all played really well. If not for that lucky last second punt return before the half we lose the game. Hope those of y'all that came down had a good time in Dallas.

Lots of mistakes on both sides tonight, MSU had their opportunities but were unable to capitalize on them, the biggest difference between FCS and FBS is depth and it showed in the 4th quarter. I wish our coaches hadn't gone so conservative, but it has happened before.

Good luck the rest of the year, I hope you make it into a bowl again, We need to put together enough wins to take our conference and make the playoffs so that we can take a run at a NC.

MSU was well coached, well prepared and has talent on both sides of the ball. MSU will do well. Glad we don't have to face you next year.

No doubt, Montana St. would be competitive in the Sun Belt, MAC, C-USA....hell even the AAC. They have D-1 talent.

Exactly what was the purpose of this game? Instead of getting spanked again by Baylor we get embarrassed by a fcs team? Man, SMU football is not even good enough to be labeled mediocre.

I'm curious how much the Montana state coach gets paid. I also wonder what the difference in quality between a full ride at SMU vs Montana state means because these scholarships are just being wasted by a has-been HC that clearly is just collecting his $2mm annual Retirement fund and doesn't give a rats *** about recruiting.

It may have been updated lately but Ash is the the 160K base and with other benefits and incentives I think its around 250K, probably above most in the FCS.

Have heard that NDSU coach is highest in the FCS, I think he is around 400K total

I made it a point, to wish their fans luck after the game. Those guy's were well coached, played hard, and seemed to want it more than SMU did.

Well that coach at least earns his salary. Can't say the same for JJ, unfortunately.

Montana State is getting more bang for their buck than we are by far, June makes like 10 times what their guy does.

so why exactly is the punt return for a TD lucky. Taylor is a true freshman talent who has only just begun his SMU career. I do not believe you have any clue as to what he accomplished on that play.

Can we take him off your hands. You have a nice team there.
