Someone remind meWhy was Tulane invited to the AAC? They lost today to South Alabama, and South Alabama lost last week to a FCS school. I know that might be calling the kettle black after us today but at least we've got a few skins on the wall (4 straight bowls). Tulane is picked to finish last in an extremely watered down C-USA and they lost to South Alabama today. Not good

Re: Someone remind meThis conference is a dumpster fire, welcome to the party.
Re: Someone remind meI recently spent 1 1/2 days in New Orleans and thought it was the most overrated city ever.
Re: Someone remind meI love NOLA. IMO, that is the ONLY possible reason they were invited.

Re: Someone remind meStill makes no sense whatsoever. If they were invited just because of the city then that's the dumbest damn thing I've ever heard of in realignment.

Re: Someone remind meIsn't that one of the primary arguments for why we should be in a major conference? I mean, it's not like we've done anything on the field to deserve it recently, either.
And they beat us last year, in case you forgot...
Re: Someone remind me
The only people making those arguments are homers. Being in a big city is irrelevant if no one in that city cares (which is why all those AAC city schools are stuck in that dreadful conference). They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Someone remind meto have someone in regional proximity that we can actually compete with. Who are we to belittle Tulane football?
Re: Someone remind meAgree, this one is a real head scratcher.
Re: Someone remind meTulane is pretty horrible - and has been for a long time. its one of the few we could belittle.
The number of TV sets and where they are is everything - don't know if you are paying attention. And frankly if a great conference reached out and brought us in they would be very happy with the results. More than anything that is what is holding us back. We would be TCU in 4 yrs after getting in a relevant conference - with a half way decent staff.
