Apparently he hurt his non throwing shoulder and is having surgery. He is expected to miss several weeks.

What does this do for our chances against the Frogs? How good is the backup?

Sounds like they were playing worse with Paschal in. At least we got some game action against a mobile QB, we have two good ones coming up.

Hurts our chances, Boykin was outplaying Pachall. Boykin started most of last year so he's far from a noob.

The high school in Fort Worth is having shoulder surgery?

JMO, Boykin is a better QB than Pachall. Can beat a team with his arm, and with his feet. . . Would rather SMU faced Pachall, then Boykin.

Boykin is better than Pachall and makes their offense faster and more deadly...but at least this is a devil we know, versus a devil we don't know. Also, Boykin was a pretty impressive receiver when Pachall was in, so we don't have to worry about that. Also, it's Pachall, which TCU friends tell me is pronounced "pah hall"...if we are going to have an enemy, better to know his name.

Boykin has beaten us and we have beaten Pachall. I think that says enough.

If they ran an NFL-style offense with a QB standing in the pocket, this would help. Unfortunately, they'll let Boykin run around all over the place, and it's not like they don't have weapons around him.

Honestly, it doesn't really affect our chances at all, I don't think. We'll still be big underdogs, with a chance to pull an upset.

i think Boykin is more talented, but probably also less consistent. so if you think our chances rest on a potential blow up bad day by a TCU QB, then i would say our chances went up slightly. To like 5%

After seeing what a freshman walk on can do against us, I think any QB with a game or two experience hurts us.

Now our D has been superb except against the run, pass and tackling. So we got that going for us.

According to the FWST, Paschall broke his arm and is out eight weeks.

He could opt for a redshirt, but is graduating in December.

If he's eligible to graduate in December, he'll have plenty of time for this
