The real season starts with Rutgers

Since so many are writing off aTm and TCU I guess we should focus Rutgers. This is a game that we have a good opportunity to win. Starting out 0-1 in conference play would not be fun. I don't think Tech is that good of a team nor do I think MSU is a bad team. MSU would not beat Tech. I think we will know what type of team we actually have after the Rutgers game imo.

I think we might know "what kind of team we have" Thursday night.

Might as well not even show up to the aTm and TCU games. Or let the starters rest those two games to heal fully healed up from injuries and dings as well as not risking injury. If we are throwing in the towel we might as well do it right and not half way do it.

Don't you have to play more than 8 "real" games to make a BCS Bowl?

6 wins and that what counts I guess.

TCU didn't look like world beaters against SELA, and now they have their starting QB out. Granted, the replacement isn't green, but after the past couple of years we should feel as though we have more than a chance in that game.
Texas A&M - not so much.
Rutgers doesn't look that strong, and now Cincy has lost their starting QB. Anybody think we can't beat USF?
Considering we don't play Louisville, I think if UL gets upset - which I give a 1in 10 chance - the conference race is wide open. Beat TCU, and that's a successful season.

Would beating TCU and just winning 6 total games be a successful season? Just asking.

Yes if we beat TCU and make a bowl game I think that's a good year.

**shudder**
Say what you want about A&M, but at least they are respectful. Lord knows they could have scored a lot more than 48 on us last year...

Sure.
I said before the season began if we came away with the same record against a more difficult schedule, especially with a 2-2 OOC record, then that's an improvement.

So at what point does 6 wins become something that is not successful? Also as bad as the AAC is I don't know if the schedule is actually harder.

If we are throwing in the towel on those 2 games then this would be a good idea. Same as I said earlier.
