2 Extra A&M tickets available at face value in the SMU section 518. I have had some nibbles but no bites. Take a plunge and see College Station while you watch the Ponies take on Johnny Paycheck.

I'm heading down after lunch. Any information on the AMU pre-game tailgate festivities before kickoff?

I was there. Right in front of me. A&M provided better visitor tickets in those days.

Yes, they did. We had some great seats. I never had a bad one. Usually near the Aggie band. I remember an Aggie security guy trying to harass me when I left the stands for a drink claiming SMU fans were inciting the saber rattlers! Unbelievable.

I'm not expecting a win this year, but I will remain optimistic.

Who remembers the saber incident?

A True Story:

It was a few minutes before half and my bandmates and I were only a few feet away. We had just scored a TD and the cheerleaders took the field to spell out the Diamond S-M-U. Aggies were offended.

Loved watching Aggie's head bounce off the turf. Not so much fun was watching the Corps spill out of the stands like PCP-crazed lemmings and coming for the MBand and cheerleaders alike. We circled the wagons. The football teams stepped in to break it up. I recall seeing Mr. H. Armstrong and the O-Line, among others helping to restore control.

Damn Stupid Aggies and their stupid dog.

Well, birddogger, I will share a story from the late seventies at Kyle Field: The Mustang Band brought along some dog whistles for Reveille. We started blowing those dog whistles and he went crazy, peeing all over the place. But that wasn't the end of it. In those days, Kyle Field was open on the south endzone. The game was a CBS national broadcast game and all of the sudden a dog runs onto the field chasing the refs around. They had to stop play and get the damn dog off the field. What they didn't know was the Mustang Band had summoned this poor doggie... 8)
