I think we have a good chance against TCU

Their offense is not that good. I think those that expect to lose this game might need to rethink that school of thought. Their receiver are not as good as years past and their offense line is not that good either imo. We have an opportunity if we play well.

Their OL is very big and running backs are very good. If we play and tackle like we did against MSU it will be a long game.

They have a bye week -16 days to prepare for SMU.
Plus with the loss to TTU, our game becomes a must win. In fact, I bet they will try to run up the score if they can to make a statement.

We don't win unless TCU continues with all the penalties and we get some timely turnovers.

I bet their coaches are going to emphasize eliminating penalties over the next few weeks.

BTW: SMUs first half MSU penalty situation was horrendous. But the coaches addressed it and I don't remember any 2nd half penalties.

Usually the Frogs poo-poo the SMU game, but this year its a legitimate must win for them or they will be staring a 1-4 start in the face (with OU the following week). TCU isn't great, but we'll have to be if we want to go into FW and get a W. They have a bye week and will be ready for us. The Ponies will be coming off a severe beat-down at A&M. I don't like our chances.

I agree. I saw nothing last night that really scared me.

We have a chance but not a good one. They have a lockdown secondary and a line that can get pressure without blitzing so it's going to be next to impossible to dink and dunk on them or hit anything downfield. Boykin isn't much of a passer but with our back 7 he really won't need to be to have success and we won't be able to stop Catalon from running all over us. They're going to need to shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly for us to have a real chance at winning.

I, for one, will be stayed curled up in a fetal position wetting myself for the next 2 weeks because we play big bad aTm and TCU. They are so big and scary, why don't we just forfeit the game and not show up since they will simply break our poor whittle boys.

Good point, we couldn't tackle a girl scout the night of the MSU game and didn't hold up at the point of attack well either. Need better d-line play and pressure on their QB to win this game.

We couldn't tackle because JJ didn't put the team through pre-season practice with tackling. What happened to the days of Junction, Texas style preparation?

I don't believe that is the reason, we tackled well throughout most of the Tech game. Outside of the initial Safety the defense came out flat. I thought we should have called more run blitzes. I also think getting Rambo back in the middle will help.

I'm actually pleased that Tech won that game because it makes me feel better about our team...but don't underestimate the "home field advantage" in comparing Tech and TCU. Big boy football programs actually benefit tremendously by having a large home crowd...something I'm not sure we've experienced since the day we beat Kansas to open Ford.

I hate to think what Tech would have done to us if we played them in Lubbock. Beating TCU would be a huge upset. Sure hope the guys can pull that one off, but I wouldn't say we have a "good chance" based on what I saw last night.

I don't think it is a good matchup at all.

Tech's strength on defense is their front 7, which played exceptionally well against TCU.

TCU will be able to ground it out against us offensively and move the ball as long as they don't make negative plays.

Defensively, TCU played very well against Tech. Tough matchup on both sides of the ball I think.
