Run the ball against a weak Aggie defense

Postby SMU 86 » Thu Sep 19, 2013 4:53 pm

Aggies gave up 240 yards rushing against Sam Houston State. Any of our backs could do well against them.

Agreed. I just hope we don't get too wrapped up in trying to dazzle them with the run and raid. RUN THE BALL!

Good luck convincing Mumme of that, our offense won't be grinding it out like Rice/Sam/Bama (not that we could block all that well even if we tried).

Forget that. I actually LOVE that we lead the nation in completions.

Didn't Stallion point out that they have a DB down and that their Def Backfield could be a concern? (Could be wrong)

But the only thing that might make this game interesting is if we throw the ball 80 times (and complete if some). The June and Hal combo has absolutely lived up to expectations so far, and I love it.

Actually, I think Rice mostly ran out of the spread. not a power game.

The A&M d-line is pretty young, but any chance we have in this game of performing well on offense depends on our o-line stepping it up a notch.

The Ponies can definitely put points on that atrocious Aggie defense. The key will be scoring on every opportunity because Johnny Paycheck will have their offense virtually unstoppable.

Yeah, but I'd also really love a few more deep balls. I think we've thrown four all season - only two or three were completions, but all four have been in the receivers' hands. Maybe we're just always setting up for those 2 bombs/game, I dunno...

Agree. The Aggie defense could be the worst defense we have faced so far this year.

A&M has 11 true freshman on the defensive two-deep. They will get better, but probably not much better within a few weeks. Their safety Raven is out with a broken clavicle and that has been a vulnerable position for them, as well as defending the power run.

Given them a huge helping of P Line with a side dish of QB draws and bubble screens.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
