I hope he plays more than just a few plays a game.

We burn his redshirt year in a game we are going to get blown out-does that make any sense?

Depends on how much more he plays this year.

And what I could see, he got schooled by the A$M line.

June probably won't play him anymore which would be typical

If that is the case then he needed to be redhsirted to gain more strength. Another possible wasted redshirt.

Right. Freshman d lineman as a rule can't compete against linemen who have been a college program for 2 or 3 years. Spencer Hollie would get worked too. D linemen need to redshirt...period!

Move him to running back like Wembly. That worked out well.

Unless they are an exception to the rule like Ole Miss DL Robert Nkemdiche.

The bottom line is we are not a good enough program to worry all that much about red shirting players. Play the best player regardless of their class. We need help now the future will take care of itself.

Couldn't really see what was happening from 100 yards away but I did notice he was credited with 4 tackles which ain't bad for part time DLineman. Hope to watch replay to focus on him.

You have to develop players. Fine if he is the best but If it is just for a few plays a game then it is waste. See Jeremy Johnson and Kevin Pope.

Many on this board have been calling for some time to get Minor in the rotation, and many have stated he should be the starter. I think I recall (not 100%) Mason indicating he would be one Frosh that would defiantly work into the rotation and see serious PT. If so, you bring him along a little slow the first few games slowly getting him more action, and have him ready to go for the first conference game. A&M is still one of the best "O" lines around,, if Minor looked a little overmatched I don't think you scrap your plan based on one game and few plays against a top line. If they really feel he can be something special this year and can help the D-line, put him in. I'm fairly confident they did not say .... oh this A&M and we have a slim chance of wining so lets burn a top prospects redshirt.

Since we can take back the redshirt I really hope he see significant time. Scrap what plan because it would seem you would have to play him now. Only time will tell if they wasted a year or not.
