Penalties

Postby Treadway21 » Sun Sep 22, 2013 12:04 am

Don't think we've gone a game with less than 90 yards of penalties.

Weeks may have set a record for false starts and illegal motion. Makes it tough on a QB to have to go 1st and 15 all the time.

how many false starts 7? 8? I would have started yanking players off the field. It wasn't even loud tonite-I've never seen Kyle Field so quiet

If we want to start winning games we gotta correct this. Think about the Tech games had we eliminated penalties...and tonight would have been more competitive at least.

Sloppy and always at the wrong time. 1st drive looked decent without the penalties

One offensive lineman, Weeks, was responsible for at least 4 of the penalties, which nullified approximately 60+ yards of gains that the offense had generated at crucial times. I believe one was a 4th and 17 conversion that was nullified. Unacceptable!

Penalties were the biggest disappointment of the game. So many stupid penalties and they hurt us on offense multiple times.

Poor ball handling caused two fumbles (that differently hurt us).

And stupid plays (like the dancing in the endzone and waiting until the kickoff cover team is right on the returner before he decides to bring the ball out of the endzone. Killer stupid move that hurt us on the very first play of the game.

I don't think any of this changes the result but it certainly made things worst.

These were extremely disappointing and came at bad times. Poor concentration and discipline. You came easily add poor coaching there as well.

Tough to always have a 5 yd hole to dig out of.

I don't think we got the ball outside our 25 all day. Add getting a penalty on a bad return Starting inside your ten; then getting a motion penalty and being first and 15 inside your ten is not the way to be competitive.

No discipline = penalties. Don't sound so shocked.

You play the way you practice. The penalties have been a big problem in all our games this year. It is IMHO a coaching problem.

It IS a coaching problem. Will they take ownership?
