I hope he keeps it up against TCU.

He and the RBs are the only ones stepping up however, a simple run game is not going to be enough. WRs better act like center fielders and break for the ball and CATCH THE DANG BALL.

Gilbert played well in my opinion, bigger issues are getting defense to play better and WR more consistent catching the ball and making yards after the catch.

Like so many ponies before him, he will probably be better in the pros than at SMU. He has the physical tools so when he gets around the brightest minds in football instead of these guys it will be a huge help to his success.

There were times when the offensive line gave GG ample to to throw. He didn't run as often as I thought he could/should have against the Aggies. I have a feeling the coaches are pulling the reins in [deleted] that.

Gilbert is playing well this season.

There was no reason for Gilbert to expose himself in that game. It was meaningless as far as what we need to accomplish this season.

I think Gilbert is trying to get himself a shot at the NFL. My opinion is that running/scrambling QBs do not translate to the big time. Patient, pocket passers are the norm and he is proving himself as an option. Hopefully papa Gale and QB Guru can get him some looks and on a roster come Sunday next year.

Russell Wilson? Although he is more of a pocket passer than a scrambling. It would seem to me that there is an unfortunate bias against athletic QB's in the NFL even if they are accurate passers but NFL offenses are slowly changing. I think the day of mostly statue QB that can only pass might be heading lessening.
