The NCAA decided they were too harsh and are giving back some of the scholarships they took away....

We should ask for some of ours back from 1987. Perhaps the NCAA will realize that they were too harsh...

Yeah and we didn't cover up the rape of any children. Good grief.

Side note- I bet Miami is thrilled that the NCAA has ruled and then reversed its original ruling on PSU while still not issuing a ruling on their case

blackoutpony - the ncaa actually didn't think they were too severe, it's because penn state has been trying so hard...

Emmert insisted the reductions didn't come because the original sanctions were deemed too severe, but because of the good-faith efforts by Penn State.

This is just the start, mark my words, they 4 year post season ban will be reduced as well

The only reason i can see that this is happening is because the NCAA wants to fore stall the pending litigation from the state AG. That and the fact the NCAA is a very weak institution.

It's not that the NCAA is a very weak institution..It's that Ped State is a very strong institution.

If PSU's efforts constitute "good faith," we damn well better be given a retroactive national championship for our "efforts." We knee capped the f*cking Athletic Department for two decades.

I want to know -especially with paying players on the horizon-when the reparations check is forthcoming

I guess since UCF beat them the NCAA decided to help them get back to being a powerhouse. They can't have a AAC team being better than a Big 10 team.
