Last yr vs this yr
Posted: Sun Sep 29, 2013 9:55 amDid the offense look this bad last yr? If I remember it looked pretty bad but was it this bad?? We beat a terrible SFA team, got clobbered by Baylor. Beat a terrible UTEP team not playing well at all.... Same WR drops, lack of execution (we cant make plays at the right time), no emotion. I can hardly remember any first downs yesterday. Always seemed like it was 3rd and out. Flea flicker was great followed by a terrible penalty. As many have pointed out 3rd and short and we throw 20 yds downfield, makes zero sense. i would prefer a 2 yd drag route if you are going to throw it.
Gilbert played very different yesterday than the 1st 3 games - forcing throws, dumb mistakes and decisions. It was strange - he looked like a different player. I saw one zone read attempt - but many other times when it would have been open.
Last year we had a huge TO margin in a lot of games where the offense didn't even play well. In a game like yesterday, you have to take advantage and score td's. we just can't ever do that.
