Shead, please save us!

I have i hopes for Shead. He's the only one atm that can right the ship and help is be competitive in conference. Our total lack of a running game is really impeding the offense. i really think Mr. Shead can be a home run threat. the kid is powerful with size and speed. Wishful thinking? possibly, but i'm trying to think of anything to keep me from quitting on SMU football

Not the best idea to put all your hopes on a RB playing in a pass-heavy offense behind an O-Line that stinks at blocking.

I did not think that the O Line did that bad yesterday. It will be good to see Shead back. And hopefully against Rutgers.

A man named Zach Line would beg to differ.

And to be fair we havent seen the OL run block much, cause we've barely ran it, maybe because JJ doesnt have faith in P Line and Nlemchi. im sure we run it way more often when Shead gets back.

Seems overly optimistic especially since June said he wanted to be 75 percent pass this year (before Shead got hurt-and it's held up so far).

Looks to be like Nlemchi is a break-a-way threat, too. I like what I've seen from him...other than the tendency to run east-west a bit too much

fact remains that we completely lack a running game, and if we get one going our offense would improve drastically. should even open up space for our receivers and allow them to beat their defender since the opposing linebackers will have to honor the run

Shead's twitter account said that he is playing this week. So he is back.

Fact is, this staff has had SIX YEARS to recruit running backs with very little to show for it. I love Zach Line, like most of us here, but they found him by accident (as a converted linebacker) and he couldn't run away from anyone. On top of that, the staff never paired him with a scat back type to change the pace and challenge the defense.

Now, our chips are on a Texas transfer, who fumbled twice in the first quarter of his SMU career before getting hurt? How in the world do you not have 3-4 running backs that can make plays, even in a predominantly one-back offense?

Next coach, please.

Unfortunately, it looked to me as if Shead appeared to be fumble prone...

I am pumped to see Shead back. Gotta get him and Nlemchi rolling. We can't just keep passing 75% of the time simply because "we do what we do". That is insane. If you have guys that can get 5.x yds/carry, run! PLEASE

Yeah, we had. 4 straight years of 1000 yd. Running backs and 4 years of bowl game! Duh. What's going on? Heck 6-6 looking better and better to me. (I predicted 8-4, oops.)

Still too high, 5-7 at best... Unless JJ and the players all of a sudden look like a football team which that would just [deleted] me off since they treat that as preseason
