This is an interesting list of coaches salaries in 2013.http://www.coacheshotseat.com/SalariesContracts.htmBronco Mendenhall @ BYU making half what June does!
Mark Helfrich @ Oregon making the same as June does.
Jim Mora @ UCLA making the same as June does.
Al Golden @ Miami Hurricanes making less than June does.
Chris Peterson @ Boise State making less than June does.
George O'Leary @ UCF making less than June. For what we are willing to pay we should be able to get a really good coach.

Looking at that list, I am really surprised Mack Brown and Nick Saban are the same age. I would really have thought that Mack was older.

When we hired June he was like the 21st highest paid coach. Now 2 mil is like 50th. Not as much as it once was.

not too many on the list under 40 years old if that is one of our requirements...
to be able to "connect" with recruits.

Under the column listed as Contracts, it indicates a '2' for Jones. Does this mean there are two contracts? If so, how does that complicate things?

Not bad, not bad at all.
Can't say they're not trying.
A younger, fiery, hungry coach to work for $2M at SMU in Dallas? I'd be on that like white on rice...
....but that's me...

The "2" is a footnote that denotes "Private school or service academy. Contract not made available to the public."

posted over and over on this board is "young" coach. the top football coach in the nation is 62 years old. maybe age is not a requirement, right Larry?
it's effort, desire and leadership skills.

I don't think the age issue is as important as getting a coach who can build a staff of high-energy effective recruiters ala LB. I suspect a lot of us don't really believe we can get a top level P5 coach to come here so considering a younger asst. coach is the more likely option.
