If we beat Rutgers, how do you explain...

If you look at Rutgers commits from 2011 to now and look at ours to now, it's absurd. They consistently have several 4* and last year a 5*. Don't get me wrong, I wanted JJ gone long ago and still do but this seems interesting if we beat them.

Same way you can explain how we beat TCU in 2011 despite us having maybe one or two scholarship guys that were even recruited by TCU. Anything can happen in ONE GAME.

I should have framed the question differently. I understand the "anything can happen" but I really meant, what if we actually were better. Not a fluke, how is it explained?

Same way that the Longhorns have underachieved consistently over the past 3-4 years since McCoy left. Sometimes, even with superior talent and resources, the team simply doesn't get the job done.

I've looked at those ratings before but aren't most of their best classes backloaded to the most recent recruiting classes. They also lost as many starters from last year as anybody. From memory I thought they only have 8-9 returning starters-so rather inexperienced teams. much like that TCU team we beat in 2011

It's simple. If we beat Rutgers, the Rutgers AD should fire the Rutgers HC on the spot and force him to take a separate flight home from the team.

somewhat-best classes are redshirt freshman/sophomore and redshirt sophomore/juniors:
2009-38
2010-64
2011-32
2012-24
2013-45

Rutgers only has 10 returning starters-lowest in AAC

Rutgers has the worst FBS team that we have seen this year. Go SMU.

I bet they'd take care of Montana State at home without a last minute miracle drive.

That's why they go ahead and actually play the game rather than giving the W to whichever team has the most stars.

Rutgers is not that loaded with high star players as Stallion has pointed out. We have a good chance in game. Not a big talent difference. It should be a competitive game. We should be disappointed if it isn't.
