Ramblings on June.

Just a reminder to those who think June has poo-pooed our traditions, and that this shows how he has never really taken to SMU. He meddled with the UH traditions, even changing the team name. And he changed the jersey colors too. This is just part of June's persona. It's strange, I don't like that he feels the need to try to change things in this manner but just remember that he's always been this way. And, SMU, has largely kept him at bay. The geldings are gone, the black jerseys lasted one game.
Maybe June has never taken to SMU because we didn't pander to his every wish like Hawaii did. In Hawaii he was a hero, even bringing political figures into play to try to keep him. We never gave him that. And the crowds never came like they did in Honolulu.
We didn't keep the black jerseys;
We didn't keep the geldings; (I won't go into my feelings on that)
We didn't keep the luncheons;
We didn't even keep any form of coach-fan interaction;
Dallas didn't come flocking;
Texas's best players didn't bang down the door.
Who is more disappointed with the way this has gone? SMU or June?
I don't think he should have expected to be able to change all these things just by being June, but I can understand that if he did he must be pretty disenfranchised.
