Should Jim Tressel be on our list too?

Is Jim Tressel out of the question because:
#1. Turner would never hire a guy who resigned over NCAA violations.
#2. He has no Texas ties.
#3. Tressell would not accept the SMU job?

No, but Phillip Montgomery should be. He could do bring the same excitement for SMU that Kingsbury is bringing to Tech.

I would have to go with:
#4. All of the above.

No he shouldn't be on our list?
Or no it's wrong to assume Turner wouldn't hire him?
Or no it's wrong to assume Tressel wouldn't have a 2 million dollar interest to coach SMU?

Our list should include Montgomery and that is it.

I doubt if Montgomery is even calling the plays-needs more investigation than just him being O Coordinator on successful team

I agree. I think Montgomery should be on our list, but we need more info.

Not sure a big name guy who was successful at a football factory with all the resources in the world is the kind of guy we need to be looking at. I'm thinking a young, up and coming, eternal optimist/salesman is what is needed (not to mention a staff of like minded guys). This ain't bball where a player or two can lead to immediate success. This is going to be an uphill battle and we need to make believers of our current players, students, recruits and prospective fans to turn this thing around.

Let's just get a coach that knows how to recruit and win. There has to be more Art Briles and Gary Patterson types out there just waiting for their chance.

I heard he was very impresssive at the kickoff luncheon this year, and really connected with our players. He does have Texas ties, but how old is he? He must be about Larry Brown's age.
