I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fanlooking forward to basketball season
Re: I feel like a Kansas/kentucky/Duke fanDon't forget North Carolina
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fanYou could probably put UConn and Syracuse on the list.
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fanAnd Memphis. Should be a rockin game in a couple of weeks.
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fanI understand your sentiment.....but we've got a ways to go in basketball before we can really relate to a kansas, kentucky, or duke.
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fanThe way the NCAA is set up today. SMU will be a basketball powerhouse QUICKER than they will ever become a football powerhouse.
2015 INDIANAPOLIS OR BUST
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fanEspecially with a coach that cares and recruits.
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fanI hope this is a short term feel because I hate basketball... Really wish we had baseball truly I do.. #TCUEnvy
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fan
Quicker than never isn't saying much.
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fan
Good feeling about Larry Brown getting SMU to a "higher level," than the June s%#t show 2015 INDIANAPOLIS OR BUST
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fanI agree things look promising.
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fan
What do you mean the way the NCAA is set up? #HammerDown
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fanWell, enjoy it while it lasts, as there is one teenie weenie difference between Duke, Wake, Kansas, Kentucky, Vandy, Rutgers, Syracuse and us.
THEY will be cashing $50M+ pay checks each year while we will be collecting $5M. Going forward, that is going to make it extremely difficult to compete.
Re: I feel like a Kansas/Kentucky/Duke fan
Agreed. I trade places with Duke, Kansas, or Kentucky - millions of $$$ in conference TV revenue plus a portfolio of Final Four appearances and national championships in basketball. What is even more depressing is that Baylor and TCU, long considered our peer institutions as private schools in Texas, will be cashing these big checks for the next 15-20 years as well. Where will SMU be if they are able to leverage their athletic success and exposure into stronger academics? We need football, but it is essential that we win the academics/basketball arms race over the next 15-20 years.
