Posted: Tue Oct 08, 2013 8:00 pmIsn't there some way the schools can switch the scholarships from athletic to some other category so the player who can no longer play but will retain his scholarship and the particular sport frees up a scholarship?

Yes. I'm sure UH will do that. All our old basketball players did when Larry had to clean house.

Piland graduates in December anyway. Unless he's pursuing grad school or is becoming a GA, then I'm sure they have something they do with that.

The show included Penn offensive lineman Owen Daniel Brearley Thomas (September 30, 1988 - April 26, 2010), who hanged himself, suffered CTE. Although he had never had been diagnosed with concussion, he had 20 spots in his frontal lobe, probably from sub concussive hits by just playing the game.
