SMU Football Honoring Class of '73

Thought ya'll might find the following, from a brother of mine, thought provoking.............

"As I reminisce about our Mustang football teams from 1969 to 1972...I recall that on the average we had records of 4 and 7 or thereabouts. I think it is heart warming that this years team, in tribute to our 40th Home Coming, that they are trying to emulate that very same winning percentage. True, in recent years the Pony's have done well and we are all proud of their accomplishments. However, the quality of the opponents has surely dropped, but we have managed to keep pace. But again our class of '73 should feel honored that the current football team has taken a year off from recent successes to make us feel at home, for our Home Coming game. Hopefully, this is only a one year hiatus from the winning direction the program has taken. Go Ponies."

How true.......how true

Very funny, made me smile. When I played, I think we were 0-9-1 and there about for four years before the Cotton Bowl against Georgia a year later.

Oh boy, bring back those silver helmets to honor them.

Since this is the month for breast cancer awareness games, we now have a use for those pink
pants created when they washed the originally grey ones with the red jerseys that year.
