Many people mentioned Baylor OC as possible replacement but they look somewhat mundane today so far against good but not great team on the road. Don't know if it's they are finally playing decent team or finally playing road game, but obviously not the numbers like they piled up against easier teams. What is his recruiting like if we were to go after him, or is it Briles and his ex-Oregon pipeline getting their kids ?

The Memphis guy who was ex-TCU guy recruits down here well and is liked by coaches at the better programs like Steele, Smithson Valley, Madison, Judson, etc. He signed our 5A player of year last year (the Madison RB) and his Ol buddy who are kids SMU talked to. He has kid from Steele he is on now but with coach jinks now at Tech they have a Steele pipeline (see Stockton kid who now going to Tech over Texas). Point is he recruits this area in Texas well, and probably has contacts all over from his TCU days.

Just don't know much about the Baylor guy. If focus is coach who recruits better, how about checking on this Memphis coach?? You could get guy who recruits and also now would have little bit of head coaching experience (albeit little)

Montgomery isn't a big-time recruiter, there are like 5 guys on that staff that do more work on the recruiting trail. Not sure Fuente would bail for what amounts to a lateral move.

So far it looks like BU's D in not up to snuff today.

forgot PB was the D coach at BU. I thought there was a person I recognized and it was PB without the 'stach..

There is no such thing as a lateral move that doubles your salary.

We could double his salary but then again so could Memphis (they have money too and a renewed interest in football).

Baylor scored 5 TD's on the road against a team that went to a bcs game last year and ppl think they looked average (granted K State isn't as good this year). When was the last time smu scored that much on the road? I think the Baylor OC would be fine if we managed to get him

Might also want to look at Dave Wannstedt. good coach, good recruiter and probably still has some Tx ties.
