Interesting that Texas Tech is now 6-0 with a first year head coach and QB yet we're in year 6 of our head coach with a multi year starting QB and are 1-4. Maybe there is more to this recruiting thing..........

PS- you might want to also add enthusiasm and school involvement along with the recruiting issue.

Amazing how new coaches can get their offenses in gear immediately but our kids are still trying to learn the complex run and shoot.

Kingsbury (sp?) is young, energetic, recruits and LOVES the school and it's traditions! Winning combination.

they've had a great schedule so far with only test being TCU at home. They've played Iowa St at Home too Now we find out how good they are because they are going on the road with a tough schedule in conference. Last year they collapsed after great start

You know there is a relatively young, good recruiter, former head coach of a major program coaching linebackers at Arkansas after spending a year at TCU.

Wonder why a guy with his track record is a position coach. His Miami teams were reputed for being undercoached and he blew a lot of good talent from those great recruiting classes.

Wouldn't we take a 6-0 start? Guessing even if they had a collapse in the second half of the season, they still come out with a better record than we have this year...........

I understand but we play at a different level right now. He could possibly fit for a while. I do not think Saban is ready to move.

Still not sure how well this guy can recruit without the Miami brand behind him.

Randy Shannon's name is all over the Miami NCAA investigation-that's why. He begged for the TCU LB job before going to Arkansas

I have a feeling we will not know how anyone we get will perform until after they get here. We are not going to get a known commodity. Head coach does not directly recruit anyway, he is an advisor and a closer.

I would just think ( and I am not pushing for or advocating Shannon) that a relatively young African-American head coach who could put together a good active staff could recruit the heck out of the DFW area. Same criteria for any race, but it might help our lily white image to go with a coach of color.

Well, how about the folks who have recruited and coached and developed the program at prime prep
