Severt and High School Football

Looked in local paper: Westlake 55, Del Valle 14. Jordan Severt was 21-27 for 359 yds. My question: The scores of high school football these days are in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. There was even a 91 - 0 Aledo over FW Western Hills. In my long ago day we didn't see scores like this. Are they running up scores even in high school to impress the poll voters? For example, Severt apparently played the whole game and so did the Lake Travis QB, who won 62-0 over Austin Anderson. What is this about?

The Austin Independent School District teams are usually bad.
Del Valle and Anderson regularly taking thumpings like this from suburban schools.
Not sure about the statewide trend...

Its the spread offense-quick strike offense plus the 7 on 7 competitions that polish the passing game. Remember high school games are 12 minutes shorter than college games with 12 minute quarters
